Cooking Adventures

I am very lucky to be in charge of a cooking class for 3 and 4 year olds. It gives me an opportunity to try new, kid-friendly recipes. It is SO much fun to be preparing food with kids and then trying them again with my daughters. My work is very enjoyable as you can see and it's worth to write about.

So here is one of the many recipes that you will find in my Cooking Adventures posts. This one was a hit amongs my little friends on a hot and humid Chicago summer day.

8 cups of watermelon

2 cups of sugar

lemon juice ( I squeezed 2 lemons )

2 unflavored gelatin pockets

1.5 cup of water

2 cups of milk

  1. In a blender or food processor, process the watermelon in batches until pureed. Transfer to a large bowl; stir in the sugar and lemon juice.
  2. Bring water to boil and dissolve gelatin in it. Add gelatin and 2 cups of milk into watermelon puree.
  3. Pour it into bowls or cups and freeze for 8 hours or until firm.

Voilà !!
