I really didn't have too much time for a big Easter preparation this year. At the very beginning of the week, Pola and I started some alfalfa seeds and by Saturday they sprouted beautifully. We do it every year- grow it as a decoration and eat it later on. On Saturday morning we colored eggs, put together our Easter basket and then we took it to church for a blessing. It is a Catholic tradition and I remember enjoying it a lot as a child and even as a teenager. Pola and I decided to use onion peels to color our eggs brown(ish) and used tattoos to make them unique. 'Kraszanki' - eggs dyed with onion peels- are very popular in Poland. My grandma used to color eggs that way. This year I wanted to show Pola this old tradition. It was fun !
Easter Sunday began with a surprise from Easter bunny and nice breakfast made by Raja. We hang out a lot in our backyard. Set up a circus tent for the girls , jumped rope, listen to the music, baked a traditional Polish Easter cake "Mazurek" and BBQ some delicious burgers and corn. At the very end of the day we decided to take a walk to the park and get some Italian Ice. Perfect Easter Sunday indeed!!
