With our busy schedules we barely ever have a time to make it downtown during the week. That's why when the weekend comes around we usually try to have a fun family date. We are either exploring the city or checking out fun places in our neighborhood.
This Sunday we decided to visit Chicago Cultural Center. It's maybe the middle of March and spring is around the corner but it is still quite cold and we are not able to enjoy the outdoors. At least not as much as we would love to.
The Chicago Cultural Center building itself is impressive. I don't even know how come we have never visited it before? It is right across from the Park Millennium, Pritzker Pavilion and Cloud Gate and we explore these places pretty often.
We really liked Mecca Flat Blues exhibition in Sidney R. Yates Gallery. The photographs and history of the Mecca Flats building that stood at 34th and State Street is amazing. If you are ever around, stop by and check it out. You won't regret it. (It runs till May 25th)
